Some Major Projects
We are busier now than at any previous time, with some major projects underway and a whole raft of installations going on.
We are currently replacing the failed green wall (by others!) at New Street Square in Holborn, for Land Securities; a flagship project for us. We are currently working with Transport for London (TfL) on a research program to test the effectiveness of green walls for pollution mitigation. A 200m2 wall at Edgware Road Tube Station (pictured) will be monitored and the different species checked for the amounts of particulate matter accumulated.
There is a lot of other work going on, with walls being installed in Norway, Netherlands and hopefully Paris.

May
Chelsea Flower Show
We are absolutely delighted with the response to the four walls we contributed to this year's flower show; three were in the main show gardens and one in the main marquee. Two of the exhibist won Gold, one a Silver and the other a Bronze.
There is a page with more detail here for pictures of these walls and gardens.

April
Installs begin!
A busy schedule of installation work has begin, including a large wall to Baker Street London (pictured), an indoor wall for Turkish office furnishing group, Koleksiyon and a private courtyard wall.
The Baker Street wall is a new design idea, utilising a random plant grouping, somewhat like camouflage. More pictures will be posted in the projects page shortly.

March
EcoBuild @ ExCel, Docklands, London.
This year we were once again a central part of the EcoBuild Citiscape exhibit, which this year focused strongly on urban ecology, and also hosted a series of talks. Mark Laurence gave a talk on Urban Food and the use of vertical space, which can be watched on YouTube
Launched at the show was the BioBrick™ which is a walling system for covering multi-planar surfaces. More will be disclosed on the website soon, or contact us to find out more!

Preparing for Spring
Although we are in the depths of winter, there is plenty to do, especially preparing for Ecobuild, the UK's premier green building show, which is at the beginning of March.
The photo shows the back of a rather unusual structure we will be featuring there! To find out more, please visit us on the Citiscape Exhibit - details are on the Shows & Events page.

January 2011
New director appointed.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of John Dyer as the new Operations Director for Biotecture. John will be responsible for the running of all projects
John's experience covers over 30 years in the construction industry in senior positions with several international contractors and cladding specialists. With a family background of growing in the Vale of Evesham and a keen interest in sailing his position with Biotecture on the South Coast is an ideal fit!
