Paradise park

March 2010

We are extremely pleased to announce our appointement to design and install a replacement green wall for this project. We see this as an excellent opportunity to restore the good standing of this pioneering project and also to restore the reputation of living walls in general.

This page will be kept updated as works progress, with an install date planned for this summer. Our original article from November 2009 is retained below.

*update*

We have been advised by Islington Borough Council officers that this project is now on hold pending a re-evaluation following the recent local council elections.

The (brown) Green Wall at Paradise Park

In the light of recent national publicity, we would like to re-assure our clients that the system employed at Paradise Park is NOT a Biotecture system, nor have we had anything to do with it. We have, since 2007, been in discussion with Islington council and other concerned parties regarding its systemic faults and their possible correction, or of entire replacement with the Biotecture system. These talks have now intensified and a decision on this is, we believe, imminent.

We appreciate the pioneering spirit with which this wall was made, but have long understood the systemic flaws that have led to its failure. We are concerned by the bad publicity that this (and other examples) gives to the green wall movement and hope to be a part of the solution to rectify this and bring the wall up to its full potential.
