Maintenance Living Wall Supervisor

Salary: £28,000 to £30,000 per annum + benefits including London Zones 1-6 Oyster Card

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor with a passion for plants and horticulture to join us, covering London and the UK.
This is a field-based role requiring a forward-thinking team leader who is passionate and dedicated, with a sound and demonstrable knowledge of horticulture and irrigation systems. The role offers real responsibility and chance of progression. It is an ideal position for someone looking to become a specialist in maintaining living green walls whilst wanting to develop their management skills.
You will be leading a team who will be performing tasks such as pruning and maintaining plants, maintaining irrigation systems, checking moisture levels, topping up nutrients, pest control, etc. You must be happy to work at height to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities
- Assist the management team to deliver and enhance the quality of all living walls delivered by Biotecture’s maintenance team
- Exceed in delivery of targets and ensure the productivity of your team in the field
- Provide reporting in line with Biotecture’s processes
- Champion health and safety across the maintenance teams
- Deliver excellent customer service with the client onsite
- Ensure compliance and effective delivery of Risk and Method statements
- Ensure that all site dossiers and maintenance plans are up to date
- Work at height undertaking horticultural and irrigation maintenance of living wall systems
- Maintain photographic records of the living walls
- Check moisture levels
- Remove weeds
- Top-up nutrients
- Treat for pests and diseases in line with instructions from horticultural quality manager
- Undertake continuous professional development to constantly deliver outstanding horticultural quality of living walls
- Maintain the irrigation system on living walls and plant rooms
- Maintain guttering, flashings, and trims
Skills and experience
- Sound and demonstrable knowledge of horticulture (essential)
- Experience of water pumps/plumbing and electrics on both installation, maintenance, and design of irrigation systems (desirable)
- Knowledge and experience of installation and maintenance of irrigation to both commercial and private clients (desirable)
- Comfortable to work at height from scaffold towers and cherry pickers up to 25M high (essential)
- Full clean driving (essential)
- Certification – IPAF, PASMA, first aid, spraying including PA1 and PA6a (desirable)
- Ability to work under own initiative and work flexible hours
