Operations Administrator

Location: Bosham, West Sussex

Salary: Up to £24k per annum based on experience + benefits including life assurance, virtual GP service and store discounts

Biotecture design, grow, install, and maintain living green walls throughout the UK and beyond. We are passionate about helping reconnect people with nature, and transforming urban environments for the wellbeing of people and the planet.

Biotecture has an excellent reputation within the green infrastructure industry and Operations support plays a vital role in maintaining that reputation. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will help to facilitate the maintenance of our living walls which are often located in prestigious buildings across the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring of the living wall irrigation systems
  • Sending out regular reports to customers
  • Logistics support for the maintenance operatives including booking of permits and machinery
  • Assisting the Horticultural Manager and Maintenance Manager with administrative duties

Maintenance Living Wall Supervisor

Location: London and surrounding areas

Salary: Up to £34k per annum based on experience + benefits including life assurance, virtual GP service and store discounts

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor with a passion for plants and horticulture to join us, covering London and the UK.

This is a field-based role requiring a forward-thinking team leader who is passionate and dedicated, with a sound and demonstrable knowledge of horticulture and irrigation systems. The role offers real responsibility and chance of progression. It is an ideal position for someone looking to become a specialist in maintaining living walls whilst wanting to develop their management skills.

You will be leading a team who will be performing tasks such as pruning and maintaining plants, servicing irrigation systems, checking moisture levels, topping up nutrients, pest control, etc. You must be happy to work at height to be considered for this role.

Full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team carrying out regular maintenance of our living walls including horticultural and irrigation maintenance.
  • Deliver excellent customer service with the client on-site
  • Champion health & safety across the maintenance teams
  • Ensure compliance and effective delivery of Risk and Method statements
  • Provide reporting in line with Biotecture’s processes
  • Assist the management team to deliver and enhance the quality of all living walls delivered by Biotecture’s maintenance team
  • Undertake continuous professional development to constantly deliver outstanding horticultural quality of living walls

Skills and Experience 

  • Passionate and dedicated
  • Sound and demonstrable knowledge of horticultural (essential)
  • Full driving license (desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience of maintaining exterior irrigation systems (desirable)
  • Comfortable to work at height from scaffold towers and cherry pickers up to 25M high (essential)
  • Certification – IPAF, PASMA, first aid, spraying including PA1 and PA6a (desirable)
  • Ability to work under own initiative and work flexible hours
  • Excellent customer service skills

Horticultural Support Technician

Location: London and surrounding areas

About the role:

Biotecture is on the lookout for a Maintenance Technician to join our fast-growing and close-knit team.

This role would be ideal for someone looking to become a specialist in maintaining living walls and seeking to take on more responsibilities. You will  be working on prestigious living walls predominantly in London and around the UK.

Full training will be provided but horticultural maintenance experience is desirable. You must be happy to work at height to be considered for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Pruning and carrying out ongoing maintenance of plants as part of a team.
  • Ensuring horticultural quality of all living walls in the field & reporting issues to the team leader
  • Maintaining the irrigation and living wall systems in the field
  • Maintaining a photographic record of the living walls
  • Checking moisture levels, removing weeds, topping-up nutrients, treating for pests and diseases in line with instructions from horticultural quality manager & replanting as necessary

Skills and Experience 

  • Sound & demonstrable knowledge of horticulture
  • Ability to work under own initiative, and ability to work flexible hours.
  • Full driving license (desirable)
  • Experience with irrigation systems (desirable)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Hold the following active tickets; IPAF, first aid PASMA, spraying including PA1 and (desirable)
