Soaring 75 floors above the city, the breathtaking Sky Terrace crowns the Landmark Pinnacle building.

Developed by Chalegrove Properties in collaboration with Squire and Partners and Farrer Huxley Landscape Architects, the space was designed to reconnect residents with nature in an urban setting.

Biotecture’s living walls provide lush green backdrops for both the east and west terraces. These walls offer an efficient solution for adding greenery where space is limited, helping to reduce stress, improve air quality, cool urban environments, and boost biodiversity. Alongside the wider planting scheme, they create a tranquil retreat for residents and guests.

At night, a lighting design by Hoare Lea illuminates the green walls, enhancing their visual impact and ensuring the Sky Terrace remains a striking feature of Landmark Pinnacle.

Our approach

Biotecture was approached by Chalegrove Properties in 2020. Working with Squire and Partners and Farrer Huxley Landscape Architects, we advised on technical requirements and produced drawings.

Level 75, home to the UK’s highest living wall, is exposed to intense sun and wind. Plants from our database were chosen for hardiness, evergreen structure, and seasonal colour.

Our BioPanel system uses Grodan, a stable, inert, water efficient medium. Walls were planted at our West Sussex nursery, matured for 12 weeks, then installed with integrated irrigation remotely monitored from head office.

BioPanels were fixed to aluminium rails on waterproof backing boards. Our maintenance team provides regular horticultural care to keep the walls flourishing.
