Marylebone Square Living Hoarding
Project Details

- Helps improve air quality and increase biodiversity
- Made from 100% recycled materials
Marylebone Square is a new £106m mixed-use scheme in the centre of the capital by property developer Concord London, delivered by main contractor Kier. 26 square metres of living hoarding was installed in 2021 to help increase biodiversity and enhance the aesthetics of the construction site perimeter which will be in place until summer 2023. The project also involved engaging with a local school as part of the community outreach programme.
This is the first time that we have used Biotecture’s PlantBox living hoarding system and we have been very pleased with the results. The construction site is in a busy pedestrian location and the living hoarding now hides the building work beyond. Biotecture was happy to support our link up with a local school, with their PlantBox modules really showing the students how it’s possible to introduce more biodiversity into urban areas. We hope it will inspire some of them into a career in construction!
